Noted writer and film maker
Nabendu Ghosh died on Saturday morning at CMRI Hospital in Kolkata. He
was 91. Ghosh novel 'Dak Diye Jai' on 1942 quit India movement cost
him his government job in 1943 which made him famous as writer.
His success with cinema began when he join Bimal Roy in 1951 as a
script writer. He scripted for nearly fifty movies with eminent
directors like Guru Dutt, Satyen Bose, Hrishikesh Mukerjee, Raj
Khosla, Asit Sen, Sushil Majumdar, Basu Bhattacharya and Shakti
Samanta. Ghosh directed 'Trishagni' in 1989 under own production
fetched him National Award for Best Director. In Teesri Kasam (1966)
Nabendu Ghosh was not only the script writer but also taken part in
acting. |
