Transport Minister inaugurated the first fleet of Air-conditioned Taxis at the Salt Lake Stadium. He told near 300 such cabs will be on road initially. He told that this AC taxis is the effort of transport department to bring quality service. Presently this taxis will be available in counters in Karunamoyee in Salt Lake, Howrah and Sealdah railway stations, airport and in phases more new counters will open up. The cost of fare for a AC-Taxi will be 25% (twenty five percent) higher than non AC-Taxi fare. These AC- Taxis will be supplied by Hindustan Motors, they already received permits for 200 AC taxis.
